Who we are

We are Welshpool Baptist Church and have been deeply involved in serving our community for more than 200 years from the Baptist Chapel on Chelsea Lane, behind the Talbot Inn.

We are a Christian community of believers united by our common desire to know and follow Jesus.  To find out more about Christianity, go to Christianity.org.uk - and of course, visit us!

We are a Baptist church, which means we operate in a certain way and share some core beliefs, especially about church life and baptism.  You can find out more about Baptists at the Baptists Together website.

Rob Saunders is our Minister.   He and his family joined us in 2019 and they love being part of what is happening at the church.   Among many other things Rob likes cycling, bowling, reading, spending time with his family, and being part of a church that helps people come to know and follow Jesus.

Rob works alongside our church leaders (deacons)- they are:

Our church is part of a wider network of churches.   Locally we are part of the Radnorshire and Montgomeryshire Baptist Association, and nationally we are supported by the Baptist Union of Wales.  We are the only baptist church in Welshpool affiliated with these local and national organisations.

We also belong to Welshpool Churches Together, and we work with local churches from across the denominations.
